K.K. Bruno is Karla Kraynak Bruno, a former educator and librarian, now a full-time writer in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she basks in the southern life in a houseful of books and quilts. An interpreter for Historic Jamestowne, she volunteers at the archaeological dig year round and spends her summers with the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. A graduate of The College of William and Mary (BA; MAEd) and The Catholic University of America (MSLIS), her next novel is the first in a series of murder mysteries set in Jamestown 1629. A second project about her experiences as an alumni activist is also being prepared for publication. As a guest columnist for The Virginian-Pilot, Ms. Bruno writes on a variety of topics including local and state-wide politics, literary history, cultural events and her alma mater.
